I am so pleased and thankful for the new opportunity the web has given me. Being a gamer since a kid, and if you are too, you know we had all those games created in our minds and notebook that we wish we could make someday. Now that I had the tools, the money and the mind to take all these headache inducing scripts and programs (Flash, Photoshop, etc.), I managed to put out little flash games one at a time while learning. Being a blogger for more than a year, it helped me publish my own games. I promoted it on popular game sites every release. Escapegames24 helped a lot up until now.
This goes on and on until, one of my games got noticed by Jayisgames on its weekly Link Dump Friday (link).
It is a game called "I Hate This Game". More details aftwerwards.
This is a huge opportunity for me as all the gaming community know how prestige Jayisgames is. I immediately contacted Tom Fulp (my greatest thanks!) of Newgrounds and he was so kind to give the game a feature on the frontpage (link). Newgrounds is by the way first user-generated content site and one of the best indie/pro flash game portal.
Now here is an indie game developer's dream realized. A feature on two big guns. I'd be much happier if Kongregate and Addicting Games follow. I'm still hoping, please Kong and AG??
This is what's the game all about. It's all about opening doors. Inspired with the hate comments I received from the games I made prior to it. I've really put so much effort on those games, making animated transitions, anime characters, clever puzzles, etc. yet I will always receive a hate comment or two. It all stuck in my mind and while craeting the Neverending Impossible Escape (the moniker title while the game was in development), an idea hit me. So I did a little tweak, wrote some comments I'd be expecting and made more levels that are just plain frustrating. I threw in the most irritating music and remove the mute button. Voila! A viral flash game.
Play "I Hate This Game".
PS I am also proud to say I am a Filipino, and browsing the internet to learn more, I discovered there are many Pinoy game developers. I learned about Fizzer.ph from one of my commentors. Also, here is the very first Pinoy Facebook game, Wordtrotter. If you are a Pinoy flash game developer, please drop a comment.
Thanks!
