What's most interesting however is how it was derived.
Dowisetrepla plays on New York City's tendency to shorten neighborhood names. It is pronounced "doe" (as in a female deer), "wis" (as in "whisk"), "se" (as in the name "Seth"), "tree," "pla" (as in "plausible"). As revealed at the end of the episode Dowisetrepla is short for "downwind of the sewage treatment plant."
